Service Overview
Floor Stripping & Waxing is a restorative service for VCT, linoleum, and other wax-finish floors. It removes old, worn wax and applies a new protective finish to restore shine and protect the floor.
Preparation
- Remove furniture when agreed upon
- Sweep and dust mop the floor
- Place safety signs and protect surrounding areas
Stripping
- Apply commercial floor stripper
- Remove old wax, dirt, and buildup
- Scrub the floor with a floor machine
- Clean corners and edges by hand
- Rinse and neutralize the floor to remove stripper residue
Waxing
- Allow the floor to dry completely
- Apply multiple thin coats of commercial floor finish
- Allow each coat to dry before applying the next
- Inspect for even coverage and gloss
Final Finishing
- Buff or burnish the floor if applicable
- Final inspection for streaks or missed areas
- Replace furniture once the finish has cured if included

Not Recommended For
- Porcelain tile
- Ceramic tile
- Natural stone, which requires stone-specific treatments
- Laminate flooring
- Most modern LVP/LVT unless the manufacturer specifically recommends a floor finish
